Broad Spectrum
SAQA Montana/Idaho Regional Exhibition
February 18, 2022 through April 14, 2022
Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art hosts Broad Spectrum, a contemporary quilting exhibit originally presented at the Northcutt Steel Gallery on the campus of Montana State University Billings.
Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) defines the art quilt as “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.” This exhibit, proudly represents the SAQA Montana/Idaho region with works by 21 artists, chosen by juror Sarah Justice, Executive Director, Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art. Artists were invited to explore the variety of meanings, images and experiences evoked by the theme Broad Spectrum, and to submit artworks that interpreted the theme in their own unique way.
Broad Spectrum is touring to five venues in 2022/2023 under the auspices of the Montana Art Gallery Directors Association (MAGDA) and is accompanied by a full-color catalogue.
